Medieval Realm Family Experience

Make the pilgrimage to Hastings Ontario as we open our Medieval Park gates once again to local peasants & Nobles. Discover why we have been called the “Best School Trip Ever” by Teachers and Students alike for the past 20 years.

Hastings is the Origin of Knights. Travel back in Time and find out why.

Explore our park and go to the different sections. Each has a story and a hands on portion.

Learn and Touch:

• Crime & Punishment, featuring Mistress Jayne
• Falconry by Gryphon
• Dragons
• Mythical Creatures

Also some hands on activities:

• Spear Throwing
• Axe Throwing
• Archery

The day culminates with a Knight Tournament.

Armoured Combat Knights & Warriors compete to win the favour of being declared the Protector of the Realm by our Monarchs (2 lucky audience members).

Each section is 15 minutes long

Ancient Armour follows the progression of armour from very basic leather to the 16th Century where Knights were wearing Plate armour.

Ancient Weapons shows various types of weapons, such as Spears, Swords, Axe Mace & Flails, Bows, and Polearms and describes how they were used and what they were used for.

Crime & Punishment, Featuring Mistress Jayne. She goes over various types of punishments that people had to endure for various crimes, such as the Gallows, The Wheel, Chopping Block, the Rack, Pillory/Stocks, 2 person saw, etc.

Falconry by Gryphon and his red-tailed hawk Valor. Gryphon talks about falconry through the ages.

Dragons with Gaasyendietha. Our dragon handlers talk about various types of Dragons throughout history concluding the First Nations Dragon that inhabits Lake Ontario

Mythical Creatures. We talk about Mythical creatures throughout History, including how they came to be. Minotaur, Medusa, Pegasus
